Light of the World.
The name coronavirus is derived from the Latin corona, meaning "crown" or "halo", which refers to the characteristic appearance reminiscent of a solar corona around the virions (virus particles).

But why do we give such a hellish thing such a heavenly name in spite of its appearance? What is it in us that hails that which is so ugly?
Scrolling through Showmax, we come across titles like “Pure”, “Peppermint” and “Euphoria” only to discover how corrupt and twisted the content of these movies are.
Is this how we will continue to be deceived or deceive ourselves?
As we enter Holy Week, we move into a time of great spiritual and soul tension which invites us to reflect, forgive and let go in order to create space for the new. It is no coincidence that Covid-19 has emerged at this time.
It is said that Jesus died on the cross around 3pm on Friday (the spiritually darkest time of the year). As we head towards this moment, the internal tension in our spirit will increase for all of us. Hence the utter importance for each one of us to take stock and see clearly that which most of us would rather not look at: the sickness in our souls.
And we can choose to do this in the presence of the Light that is Good and True.
To take this week’s opportunity to deeply reflect on the dark side of our nature, and what is sick in us provides us something to bring to light so that light can shine into us. But we must choose to be open.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
- Matt 5:14
This is our truth. But it can’t be revealed or seen if it’s veiled. When we allow the heavenly light to shine into us, and accept it, we are truly seen and can become truly who we are.
Just know that this is a time of deep deep reflection as to what we choose to bring to the cross (what needs to be crucified, let go of, given to God). With a deep hope, peace and joy in our souls of that which we can create space for and usher in as New Life. And the more we own up to, ask for forgiveness for, forgive, let go of, the more the power of faith, hope and love will carry us forward across the threshold.
This is a very real turning point in time, for us all. Accenting the Circle of Life: Something dies so that something else can live.
And so the question I leave you with is: Are you willing and accepting of the Good True Light into you soul? Or will you continue to allow yourself to be deceived and corrupted by indulging in the false light?
I hope that this helps to give additional context to what you might be going through today or feeling in your soul during this time.
In Love and Gratitude,
Adam
