How do we Prepare the Way for the Lord?

In Mark 1:1-3 we read: The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, as it is written in Isaiah the prophet:
“I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way”- “a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”
Lately have you found yourself wrestling in your soul with what humanity is going through right now? Have you had days when you feel overcome by the weight of the world?
I know I have.
In times of hardship and suffering we can become easily distracted from the hope that lives in our Lord. Our earthly woes can seem to overcome our heavenly reality.
But there are three ways in which we can future-proof ourselves in Christ:
1. Pray
Ask the Lord to go ahead of us today as our messenger, for Him to be with us today, so that we become stewards of His way in the world.
2. Intention
Set a strong intention for ourselves to be fully engaged and present in the power of His Presence throughout our day.
3. Listen
Be attentive and wide awake in every moment to prepare ourselves to hear Him when He speaks to us.
So as we each navigate trying times, will we continue to zigzag as ones crying out in the wildernis... or will we prepare the way for the Lord, by making straight our paths for Him?
This choice lives as a very real power that IS in your hands. Let us always choose His Word over worldly ways.
May the Good Shepherd guide you and bless your day.
