How courageous leaders act during times of change
Knowing how to access your personal courage during times of change makes all
the difference in how you show up.

This week started off with the president announcing his cabinet reshuffle. The president explained why he made the changes:
“Fellow South Africans I’ve decided to make certain changes to the composition of the executive of our country. These changes are intended to ensure that national government is better equipped to continue implementing the mandate of this administration and specifically the tasks identified in the State of the National Address. In making these changes, I’ve been very conscious of the need to balance continuity and stability for the need for renewal, economic recovery and accelerated growth in our country.”
Changing Our Composition
We all have a personal responsibility to manage our own internal composition: Through monitoring, discerning and choosing the quality of thoughts, feelings and wishes that we spend our time on (for these are the forerunners to our actions).
Self-empowerment begins with making certain changes for the better in our lives. To put our hands firming on the steering wheel of life we must become aware of that which we invest ourselves in from the level of thinking. Journaling at the end of each day to self-reflect on our slip-ups and victories (no matter how small) support us greatly in integrating lessons learned.

Better Equipped to Implement
The courage of commitment keeps us in action of continuous implementation of our most valued strategies and cherished goals. We must honour our word as courageous warriors posed for engagement at any given moment. In carefully and clearly crafting the words we use, we become more conscious of what we have agreed to and disagreed with.
Conscious of Balance
Which sphere of your life is asking for greater attention? Your hobbies, health, wealth, relationships or career? Which spheres dominate and require less attention? You may try creating a mind-map of the above to weigh and measure where your energy needs to be more balanced.

Accelerated Growth
To get to where we wish to be, we need to first know where it is we should be going. This can sometimes be a rocky ride through trial and error. Considering partnering with a Leadership or Life Coach might just be the step you are looking for to bring you to greater clarity, care and courage.
